Vision

To become the innovation backbone of the Lĩnh Nam ecosystem and a respected research–application center for the green, smart and sustainable economy in Vietnam and ASEAN by 2030.

Research, create and protect ideas, inventions and useful solutions; turn knowledge into intellectual property and valuable products for member units — while preserving Vietnamese cultural identity through technology.

Four focus areas

Functions & duties

Inventions & useful solutions

Research, patentability search and registration of inventions, useful solutions, trademarks and industrial designs; build and manage the Group's IP portfolio.

Internal initiatives

Run the “Lĩnh Nam Initiatives” program integrated with ERP; an appraisal council and reward mechanism (kaizen) for all ecosystem staff.

Green tech & Net Zero

Develop green–smart solutions tied to Net Zero 2050 & 17 SDGs; continue the SUSTANK initiative (agro-forestry, circular economy); emissions measurement & ESG reporting for the Group.

Incubation & university collaboration

Incubate tech startups on Times Zones infrastructure; research partnerships with universities, institutes and strategic partners; support startup events (Davas).

Investment & ownership model

Project-based investment — transparent IP ownership

R&D center

Research on ideas, inventions and useful solutions; managing and protecting intellectual property for the whole ecosystem.

Project-based investment

Each project has dedicated capital from Times Zones and financial investors; independent accounting; researchers paid per project.

Ownership & profit

Inventions and IP are owned by the company; profits are shared by capital contribution after deducting costs.

Idea intake

From the internal Ideas Portal, member-unit requests and technology scouting.

Screening & appraisal

The Science & Technology Council assesses novelty, feasibility and expected value, deciding funding by gate.

Research & development

Define topics, develop prototypes / proof of concept (POC); keep research logs.

IP protection

Search, prepare files and file applications for inventions / useful solutions / trademarks at the IP Office.

5

Pilot & refine

Run pilots at the requesting unit; collect feedback and refine the solution.

Commercialize & transfer

Transfer to applying units; license via Lĩnh Nam Cosmos; or incubate into a startup via Times Zones.

R&D for a hi-tech floating-house solution — funded by Times Zones together with financial investors, with IP registration and commercialization upon completion.

Launching Q4/2026 · team 14→30 · target 50 ideas in year one · project-based investment with independent accounting.
